ITINERARY

 

Day 1 : Arrive Auckland 
On arrival in Auckland - ‘The City of Sails’ travel by private vehicle to hotel (seat in coach passengers) or collect your rental car at the airport and drive to your hotel (self drive passengers). Remainder of the day is at your leisure. 
Stay: Copthorne Hotel Auckland Harbourcity or similar (x1 night)
 

Day 2 : Auckland – Waitomo - Rotorua 
Depart Auckland this morning and head south to arrive at Waitomo for a guided tour of the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves, including an underground boat ride viewing the millions of glowworms on the cavern roof. Continue on to Rotorua. 
Stay: Millennium Hotel Rotorua or similar (x2 nights)
 

Day 3 : Rotorua 
Today enjoy your Rotorua sightseeing including a visit to Te Puia Thermal Reserve for a guided tour to see boiling mud pools and roaring geysers, and learn Maori culture at the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts institute. Also visit the Agrodome for their world-famous Sheep Show then continue to Rainbow Springs to see local rainbow trout and other native New Zealand animals. 

Day 4 : Rotorua - Christchurch 
Today is at leisure until your domestic flight to Christchurch (air fare is not included). Upon arrival at Christchurch airport, transfer to your hotel (seat in coach passengers) or collect rental car and drive to hotel (self drive passengers). The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 5 : Christchurch – Mt Cook - Queenstown 
Depart Christchurch and travel across the fertile Canterbury Plains to Lake Tekapo and the ‘Church of the Good Shepherd’ before continuing on to New Zealand’s highest mountain Mt Cook – known as “Aoraki” in Maori meaning “the cloud piercer”. This afternoon continue through to Queenstown.

Day 6 : Queenstown - Milford Sound - Queenstown 
Follow the southern arm of Lake Wakatipu to Lumsden, and onward to Lake Te Anau. Enter the Eglinton Valley and travel through the breath taking man made Homer Tunnel to reach Milford Sound. Enjoy a scenic cruise on this world famous fiord, dominated by Mitre Peak and the cascading Bowen Falls. After the cruise, return to Queenstown along the same route.

Day 7 : Queenstown 
Today is at your leisure to explore Queenstown and nearby area on your own and try the endless optional attractions available such as bungy jumps, jet-boat rides, white water rafting, gondola rides, sky-diving, horse-riding and much more. Optional activities are not included in the tour price. .

Day 8 : Queenstown – Fox Glacier 
Depart Queenstown this morning and journey through the Haast pass to arrive on the West Coast of the South Island. On arrival in Fox Glacier, you might like to take an optional (at additional cost) 20mins scenic helicopter flight this morning (subject to availability and weather conditions). 
Stay: Heartland Hotel Fox Glacier or similar (x1 night) ) .


Day 9 : Fox Glacier – Christchurch 
Travel further north up the West Coast to Greymouth. Seat in Coach passengers board the Tranz Alpine train for a stunning journey to Christchurch. Self drive passengers continue driving over Arthur’s Pass to arrive in Christchurch.
Stay: Heartland Hotel Cotswold or similar (x1 night).

Day 10 : Depart Christchurch 
Your arrangements conclude today with a transfer to Christchurch Airport (seat in coach) or returning your rental car at the airport (self drive) - check in for your departing flight. .
